Year 1 Parent Meeting [14th September]

Dear Parents and Carers,

Firstly, welcome back! I hope you all had a lovely summer break. Your child has now moved from Reception into Year 1 and as a result, is starting to work on a whole new curriculum. There are therefore important messages to share with you about how Year 1 works and expectations for the year.

On Friday 14thSeptember, I will be holding a short meeting for Year 1 parents in the infant hall. Please come along to find out more about Year 1 and how you can support your child at home.

I look forward to seeing you there,
Mrs Middleton
Assistant Head Teacher

Behaviour Watch

School have been using a behaviour management system called Behaviour Watch to support pupils. Behaviour Watch are a web based behaviour management system that centralise schools recording systems and log incidents online. All information logged onto the system from our schools is not shared with any persons that are not members of the Prince Albert Community Trust team.

In order for school to start setting the management system up for this academic year to be used in our schools we require your consent. For futher information and the Behaviour Watch consent form, please click here.

The form should be completed and returned to the class teacher by Friday 21stSeptember 2018.

Year 6 SATS Results

Dear Parents,

This morning, we received the SAT’s results for the current Year 6. The results that the children achieved and the improvements made on last year are outlined below:

% at Expected standard

% improvement on last year

% at Greater Depth

% improvement on last year

Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling

Combined (Reading, Writing and Numeracy)

We are really pleased to see an increase in our outcomes again this year which are getting closer to national average. The progress that our children have made this year has been phenomenal and each and every one of them should be proud of themselves for the resilience, effort and determination they have shown, irrespective of their final outcome. The staff across school have also played an invaluable role in the achievements of everyone.

I would like to thank all of the parents for their support this year in ensuring that the children in Y6 have been in school, prepared and ready to learn. Your support and commitment has been hugely appreciated.

Thank you very much,

Mr. A. Knibbs
Head of School

Lunchtimes [2018/2019]

Dear Parents,

Following feedback from a number of parents regarding lunchtimes at school, changes are going to be made as of September 2018. From the beginning of the new academic year – Wednesday September 5th, we will only have 2 slots for lunchtime:

Monday - Thursday

 Reception, Year 1 and Year 2  11:30 - 12:30
 Years 3, 4, 5 and 6  12:30-1:30

No changes made.

By making these changes, there will be a reduced number of children on the playground ensuring that they have more space to play and more activities to join in with. It will also help to make sure that there are as few accidents as possible. Both of these are areas where parents have expressed concerns.

If your child is home dinners and in KS1, you will need to collect them at 11:30 and return them for 12:30 in readiness for lessons. KS2 children will be picked up at 12:30 and back in school for 1:30. If you are unable to make the second return journey to bring your children in KS2 back, a walking bus will collect them and return them to school. There will be 15 places available on this so you will need to put your child’s name down at the office if you require the walking bus.

Thank you in advance for your support with this. If you have any questions, please see myself or a member of SLT.

Yours Sincerely,

Mr. A. Knibbs
Head of School
